Many years ago we started making wood boxes and one of our customers wanted some wood crates. We came up with our solid end traditional pine crates. Our original crates are in many stores and homes across the United States. Mean to be used our Badger Tough dual construction method makes these built to last a lifetime. We took our solid end pine crates and made a modification to the design so there is a nice built in handle on each end of the crate. If you find a tougher crate than our True Rustic Oak, please let us know. If you have watched one our videos, you can see me throw one to the ground repeatedly in each video.These are constructed with pure 3/8 thick oak slates and held together by 1 x 1 inch oak posts. Once we put these together with our Badger Tough Dual Construction method, they aren’t coming apart. These crates have .75 inch spacing between the slates and are popular when you want to add a rustic antique feel to a room or store, but with a newly constructed wood crate.

After we started selling our traditional pine crates, we soon had a customer ask us to construct crates out of pure oak wood. We did that, with our True Rustic Oak Crates. Our Thin Slated Oak Crates we designed for the rustic vintage feel, but when set upright, the larger slate openings allow whats inside to be seen. These crates are popular as flower crates and to put arrangements in mason jars.

The reason we have 5 different styles of our crates is because we have listened to our customers over the years. Depending on the look you want and the purpose of the crate our 3-slate version is the most open looking of our pine crates. While the solid end crates are often used in making crate coffee tables and used alone as a night stand, our 3-slate style has much wider opening all the way around. Whatever you decide to put inside will be seen. These are very popular for table centerpieces for weddings and putting mason jars with decorations in them.

If you for crate with a solid construction without the solid ends of our traditional pine crates, our 4-slate crates are the way to go. These are very popular for putting items in that you want seen, but because of the smaller openings than our 3-slate version, it works just like a box. Just like our 3-slate crates have built in handles, you can pick up the 4-slates by the ends or sides to move around if you like to decorate a lot.
